Here are some pictures of my sweet little school. I did not take these pictures, they were sent to me when I recieved my teaching contract. I will be recieving my phone sometime this week and will take some shots of my own! :)
What I teach at is called a Hagwon. It is a private school with a full time Kindergarten and English intensive classes in the afternoon. Koreans must know English if they want to get into a university. They learn a little bit of English in their public schools, but not quite enough. So, parents enroll their children into hagwons. Kids here can go to multiple hagwons for different things: English, swimming, piano, ballet, etc. I swear these children don't sleep because once they go home from all of their schooling, they have mounds of homework to do! Koreans take education very, very seriously!
I teach on the 7th floor of an "office building". Most buildings here have floors for different things. One floor could be a restaurant, another a gym, another a church, and another a hospital! It's quite genius... because it saves a lot of space and Korea doesn't have a lot of room to spare.
