Happy Korea

Time has been flying! Most Fridays I look back on the week and say, "Wasn't it just Monday?" This summer has proven to be more friendly than last. I feel like I've been meeting more people and spending more time with different friends. I'm not sure if it was the heat last year, but I don't remember making it out of my apartment as often. In one week, I will be going to China with my co-worker Ann, so here have been some good happenings in meanwhile.

My dear friend Liezel and her mom came to visit me in Dongtan! We had a good evening of dukgalbi, coffee/gelato, and fountain shows!
Sometimes, I think I live in the prettiest town in Korea.
Fountain show! First song... guess??
Have you guessed a song yet?
All of Korea is still slightly obsessed with it...
If you guessed, "Let It Go" from Frozen, you got it!
My favorite dukgalbi served at one of my favorite restaurants... the people there are so friendly!
And definitely the BEST bingsu I've had in Korea.
A following weekend...

I met up with Paul for a mini-LHN reunion in Seoul. Man, it was so fun to see him again!
Afterwards, some cheap Korean feasting with my girl, Leizel!
She is so cute!

Another weeeeekend....
Ann, along with her Korean friend Brain, showed me the Jongmyo Shrine. There is an altar within each door for every king of Korea during the Joseon Dynasty. When a king died, they would add a new door.

A big picture for how awesome I think this shot is...

Little guards on the roof :D
After a nice walk around the shrine, we hit up a board game cafe! It was sooo much fun! I may have gotten too competitive... but it was all in good fun :)
I may have won this game... twice... out of the two times we played it :P
An old restored bridge along the Cheonggyecheon Stream.
A beautiful night walk along the stream...

I spotted a Texas Western Bar! I'm going to have to hit this place up sometime :D!
A rather peculiar statue at the end of the stream.
On the same day, I got my hair cut and colored! It's been quite a while since it's been this short! I really love it though... perfect for summer!
Monday night...

I took the trek into Seoul (on a Monday night!) to see Paul play at Jack B Nimble, a jazz bar near Hongdae. It was well worth the trip. My co-workers, Daniel and Katie, went with me and we had a great time listening to some seriousllyyyy awesome jazz!

Yay! Go Jubong! Lightning fingers!

So great how Korea has a way of bringing people together!

To throw in one more...

I just went bowling for the first time in Korea! I was just as bad as I've ever been...But, still very fun! Afterwards, we went to see How to Train Your Dragon in 4D! I also saw Transformers 4 in 4D a couple weeks back... it's definitely my new favorite way to see movies! (A shout out to my new Korean friend, Brian, for taking the waygooks to do so many fun things!)

View from the bowling alley... I love Korea's use of space!
Ann doesn't like to take pictures with meeee :(
Creeping on other bowlers...
Creeping on Ann too... :)
Funny :D

My sweet boy, Bryan... " I like to punch everything except my teachers, friends, and family." He is definitely a taekwondo kid.
Caught a snorer on the bus!
