Gems

Grading my kids writing homework and I run across little gems like these...

That is one adventurous play time!

I teach her little brother... he does indeed sound like this... haha...

Good for you! :)

I'm pretty sure this kid used half of his vocab words this way...

Good idea.

Well it's a good thing you're enrolled in an English hagwon...

^ This is from one of my Kindergartners... she forgot to put "l" in most of her "flags". So, as I walk up to look at what she's done, I can't help but bust out laughing when all I see up and down her page is "fags, fag, fags, fags, fag, fags, fags, fa..." ^

^ Obviously this isn't some kids work, but it was a sweet treat from one of my students, so I consider it a "gem" :) ^

^ This is a little gem as well :) The Easter Bunny (aka Momma Whitten) came to Korea early! Aghhh I can't thank this lady enough for all she has done for me... I took this home, as well as some Popeye's chicken and cold medicine... Man, I'm blessed. ^

Van Gogh

This weekend, Nyeasha and I took a trip into Seoul to visit the Van Gogh exhibit. It was an awesome display and it was fantastic to see his works up close. The only downfall was that everyone else in Seoul decided they wanted to come see the exhibit with us (it was very busy!) Anyways, you weren't allowed to take pictures while in the exhibit, but here are some from the trip.

^ Some children's work up on display... not too shabby! ^

That's all...

Here are some other pictures for funnsies...

THURSDAY....
...was White Day. It's celebrated in Asian countries on March 14th, one month after Valentine's day. Over here, Valentines day is typically observed by women presenting candy and gifts to men. On White Day, the tables are turned and men give women gifts. I did get candy from my little kiddos, but my favorite present was this little parcel given to me by Ariel (mentioned in the last post)...

^ She wrapped it herself :) so cute ^

^ Inside were these two little "snowmen"... I love that she used tape to attach everything, haha... ^

FRIDAY...
I was finally taken to the clinic by my boss. After three days of NO voice, pink eye in both of my eyes, and horrible coughing fits... ( it was a rough week). Here is a pic of my meds... In Korea, you take pre-packaged pills (pictured below) many times a day... but for only a few days.

SUNDAY FUNDAY
Ny and I went into Seoul to meet Justin and his co-worker for breakfast and church. We ate at a restaurant in Gangman called Butterfingers. It was amazing. We shared massive plates of delicious breakfast items and I ordered BLUEBERRY pancakes! Soooo good. (Blueberries are really expensive here, so I never eat them, but this morning I had too!)

^ So delightful...^

^ We ran across this little gem in the subway station... Yup, this is why I came here...lol ^

Muh Babiesss

I want everyone to witness the ridiculous amounts of cuteness I experience on a day to day basis. I will say that these kids drive me crazy 90% of the time I spend with them.... but they spend the other 10% melting my heart. Here are the cutest of the cute! :D

^Meet Ariel...this little one has all the others beat. I could listen to her little munchkin voice all day.^

^ Oh Jun, all he wants to do be next to you all day and give you as many kisses as he can...^

^ Sweet Michelle... always does what Teacher Sarah tells her to do!^

^ Tiny cutie named Alex... he has no idea what I'm saying to him, but at least he is always smiling at me instead of staring at me terrified...^

^ Sweet Elly, look at those dimples! ^

^ Not the biggest fan of this kid, but just look at him! He's reminds me of a little old man for some reason! ^

FC Seoul

I don't understand why it's such a surprise to people when I tell them how much I enjoy watching professional soccer. I've got some favorite teams...FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are found at the top of the list. I also find myself madly in love with Sergio Ramos (plays for Real Madrid)... I will provide you a glimpse of his beauty:

Now... you know why I love soccer... :)
I kidddd...

ANYWAYS... I decided to venture into the world of K-League (Korean Soccer League) Saturday, Justin (refresher: Camp Peniel friend) and I went to a game at World Cup Stadium to watch FC Seoul take on the Pohang Steelers. Sadly, the game ended in a draw (2-2)... I was hoping FC Seoul would pull through! Oh well, I still had sooo much fun! Here are some highlights:

^ World Cup Stadium! ^

^ Opening Ceremony ^

^ Pre-game show^

^ Awesome fan section! ^

^ They rolled out this MASSIVE banner! ^

^ That man stood up on that "stage" and yelled the entire game... his poor throat :( ^

^ Flags everywhere! ^

^ I found the mascot kind of creepy...^

^ Les Miserables? Ok! ^
