Texas Visitors

I just knew June was going to be a good month. First, my brother and sister came to visit. Then, my good friend and her husband came to visit her parents, so I got to see them too!
Let's start with the sibs.

On their way!
First meal in Korea: McDonald's. Great sister right? We were all craving it... so, I'm not that terrible of a hostess. (It was really late too and one of the only places open.)
Settling down in the SLP Shack. Mi casa es tu casa.
One of my babies named Eric and brother Eric. Korean Eric was so excited to meet brother Eric... even though he isn't showing it...
First night in Seoul. We ran across this little cafe and had some Korean fried chicken and beer!
Seesters.
Cheesy, spicy, seafood dukbokki. Actually, really good!
Their fantastic ceiling decor :) Go Canada and America!
More flags and spraypaint.
First day in Seoul: Myeongdong. Here are the waygooks posing in front of the cathedral.
Justin joined us! :D
Chowing down on dukgalbi! One of my favorites.
Desert! Bingsu at Cafe Bene. This one had a caramel flavor with chocolate and caramel covered popcorn. It was yummy! I loved the little chocolate teacup on the top :)
Taking pictures of our food...
I really like this one :)
Taking the cable car up to Namsan Tower.
Packed in like a can of sardines.
At least we got the window view... muhahah!
At the top.
Being tourists.
I love this city.
Searching for the lock mom and dad left last year.
Not having much luck...
Contender #1 (the heart shaped one)
Contender #2
Taking a walk with Justin by the Han... after a huge dinner of all you can eat galbi. (Korean BBQ)
Eric riding on Justin's bike.
Brunch the next morning at Honey Bowl. Really good blueberry pancakes!
Off to Nanta! I freaking love this show.
The brown cast was really good!
Photobombed.
I cried again at this show! So funny. Eric had an actor make fun of him for standing up and cheering loudly during a section of  the performance. I was a proud sister :D
Later that night... Han River Dinner Cruise.
Banpo Bridge light show.

A very enjoyable night.
Next morning, National Assembly Building.

Whispering to the fish :)

The clock was showing the actual time. Cool.
Fish market... I preferred the one in Busan to this one.
Never ending seafood!
Then, I had to return to work. During the week, I sent the sibs to numerous locations. They were always exhausted by the end of the day and then we would go out to eat at night. These places included: the Gyeongbukgung Palace, Folk Museum, Folk Village, Buddhist Temple, Korean Baseball game (Doosan Bears in Jamsil, Seoul), the Korean War Museum, the National Museum of Korea, Lotte World, Hongdae Trick Eye Museum, etc.

View for shabu shabu night.
mmmhhh!! I love me some shabu shabu!
Doosan Bears baseball game... I haven't gone to a baseball game in Korea yet, so I'm super jealous. They said this was one of their favorite things to do all trip!
Go Bears!
The following weekend, we took a trip to the DMZ. This was my third time to go, but it never gets old. We saw so many North Korean soldiers this time!

The soldiers were all standing on the top of the building looking down at us through binoculars. Apparently, they were looking to see if any of us were important.
Such a good view ;)
Looking into N.K.
Heaviest flag in the world? Apparently it weighs over 600 pounds. Also, it had to be woven with steel thread, otherwise it would tear under it's own weight. Maybe, N.K. actually did something impressive?
The remains of the tree where the Axe Murder took place.

The bridge of no return. If you don't know what this is, you should look it up. Very eerie!
We also went down into the 3rd tunnel. There are many other things I didn't mention or show, but overall it was a good day at the DMZ.
We ate at Vatos that night, always delicious! Then, we went to see the fountain show in my town.
The next morning, I took the sibs to my church in Seoul. After, we had lunch with my dear friend Liezel. We had to kill some time before we went to the Whitten's to visit Jenny at Eric (they had just flown in), so we decided to try out a cat cafe! It was a little bit strange, but enjoyable. The cats were everywhere, but we had to compete for their love :(  Next time, I want to try out a dog cafe!

They had really beautiful cats. All purebreds (I'm assuming)...
Hanging out on the floor with them.
Eric sitting with friends.
A cat looming overhead!
Apparently, this one had dietary restrictions. None of us were allowed to feed him.
Sitting on my table.
Eating some tuna.
Tuna happy.
Staring at the guy with tuna.
Did you see a trend? You only got affection if you had treats! >:(
Sibs got to go to Lotte World while I had to work. BOO :(
Well after those many long days, the two departed. It was very comforting to have them around and maybe they will visit me in the next country I end up in. I look forward to my parents coming again in September (hopefully!)

Last weekend, I stayed with the Whitten and Krantz clan on the U.S. Army Base. I love my second home with my second family. First, (a repeat of two weekends before) we went to the fish market and got some fresh salmon. Mr. Whitten cooked it up that night and it was amazing! We also visited the National Assembly Building and walked along the Han. That night, Eric, Jenny, and I went out to Itaewon to get some drinks. There, I think I discovered my new favorite drink!
The next morning, we went to church and listened to Mr. Whitten preach. Such a good sermon! We had a lovely afternoon!

Alice in Wonderland! So good!
My friends and of course, Rocky!
Jenny and I! I really hope you had a wonderful visit! I can't believe we got be in Seoul together, who would have thought?
