Seoul Lantern Festival

Pororo and friends! I watch this cartoon almost every morning with my children.
This past Sunday ended the Lantern Festival located along the Cheonggyecheon Stream in Seoul. I was lucky enough to catch it on it's last day! Also, the fabulous Kat Mendoza joined me. We got there right as it opened, as the sun was going down. It was perfect because we didn't have to wait in any lines! By the time we finished, we saw a 60 minute wait line to get in. Such good luck! It was a wonderful way to wrap up the weekend. :D

I lurv horses!

Extra large Larva!

My favorite display!

Diaries of Yi Sun Shin.
Turtle ship.

Making kimchi... Of course they would have lanterns about making kimchi...

I'm so happy she is here with me!

We decided to give this place a try... we had to see if it lived up to our Texan standards!

No Shiner, Lone Star, or Saint Arnold's... we have a problem.
They weren't able to serve us margaritas (because the bartender was out) and the quesadilla's had mashed sweet potatoes in them!
Needless to say, it did not live up to this Texan's expectations.
On a side note: my small group is about to finish up 12 weeks of meeting together every Sunday for fellowship. I will miss this! It has been a great semester and I'm so thankful I got to get to know each one of you so well. Hooray ushering team!

Grateful

I don't talk about my church as often as I should. It's a major reason as to why I'm still in Korea. The pastors and people that are part of Onnuri are incredibly special to me. The message I receive every week teaches, encourages, and motivates me to pursue justice, love others, and constantly give thanks to God for His goodness and grace. This place has made the country feel more like home and I will be forever grateful to God that He has led me here. Thank you, Lord!

Last weekend, the ushering team that I'm part of was lucky enough to serve at a soup kitchen near Seoul Station. We had a great time serving and I had the privilege of washing dishes the whole time! Yay!

Double aprons :)
Lena was a wonderful dish drying lady!
2nd floor group!
3rd floor group!
Small group photo! These people are my favorites!
The whole gang.
Someone realized Lena and I were twinkies.
For lunch we had Dakkanmary! YUMMY!
We were very excited :D
Thanks for being a trooper sitting in the sun! :)

I'm very thankful for Onnuri English Ministry's Thanksgiving Dinner! It was on the US Army Base and we had a wonderful, American style buffet.

GLORIOUS!
We got selfie sticks as a thank-you for serving! YES!
Then there was a competition for the best table selfie... I think we did a pretty great job :)
Other half of Ushering/Welcoming team.

I love meeting with these people every week!
Some of the entertainment that night, I love that song!

Cool kids in the back of the bus... #notkelseysbirthday #stillawesome
